A letter from the Pyxis founder and co-owner:
I know that many of you have recently been given the unenviable task of needing to create a quarantine plan for your families, while simultaneously creating elaborate remote teaching plans for classes not designed to be taught over the internet. I want to help.
As many of you are aware, our video database, Exero Vet, features clinicians across the country who keep students in mind as we film with them. Many of these videos were filmed with the intent of using them in classes similar to yours.
Before I say anything else, I need you to know that on a personal note I find a lot of the marketing during this outbreak to be disgusting. I want to make it clear why this is different: To access these videos we never have to speak, you don’t have to sign up for anything beyond your VIN account, and I never need to know you looked at them. This isn’t a time for sales. When this all blows over we can talk about creating your own, but even then, that would be free and if you don’t want to talk that is 100% fine.
Our robust database of over 100 videos, is available to all students and faculty members for FREE, thanks to our friends at VIN. This was the case prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, and it will continue to be the case now. VIN accounts are free to students and faculty - and that is all you need to access them.
Additionally, Pyxis is working to add an additional 70+ videos over the next two weeks. Our videos range from scalpel blade loading and gloving techniques, all the way to equine orthopedic procedures. While I understand we will not be able to replace your valuable classroom time, I hope that our videos will help.
You can help me help the rest of your school, and other schools. We are a small company and I’ve only had the time to send this to 2-3 people at every school. So if you know of colleagues who are looking for online class materials, please let them know about our database.
